These next two weeks on the blog we’ll be featuring the latest prints and patterns from Paris, Milan, and London. Use Deb’s shots from Europe’s store windows to identify current pieces in your wardrobe as well as to track down new ones!

POLKA-DOTS, CHECKS, AND STRIPES:

“Always classic… best with a twist, this realm of ladylike pattern ranges from traditional and timeless to avant garde and trend-setting. The best stripes range from bi-color shirting and awning stripes to broken and painterly looks, while checks assort from gingham – micro- and macro-scaled – to graphic grids and handi-crafted ‘crochet’ looks. Plaids begin with preppy multicolored madras looks to highly graphic color-and-white irregular effects. All work well with seasonal solids and in combination with one another for the ‘mixology’ of spring/summer.”
