Neutral Dressing for the Seasonless Dresser: Navy August 30, 2012

Lest readers worry that neutral-based dressing is a challenge, in fact it is perhaps the easiest and most no-fuss concept to execute in a late summer into early fall outfit (and for that matter, it’s the easiest winter to spring and spring to summer concept, as well)… We’re not saying you need to stick by a head-to-toe ivory look, for example, but we are encouraging you to consider this and other natural hues before you might pick what you’ve assigned as the ‘appropriate’ tones for fall – these appropriate tones might include the ‘foliage’ hues, as we’re fond of calling them. So stash your bright red and your burnt orange dresses for now, then reissue them alongside crisp white or clay pieces, where looks will take on a new mood – which could end up saving you the money you would’ve spent trying to hunt down fashion’s next perfect fall concept. Enjoy!
