Washington D.C.

After traveling around to different cities over the week, it’s time to make our way home to Washington D.C.  SCOUT’s HQ is located in the historic D.C. neighborhood, Georgetown! To give you the best of D.C. we asked some of our Washington native employees what their favorite things are to do in the summer.

Grab a picnic dinner and some lawn chairs for Screen on the Green on the National Mall. Lemonade from Founding Farmers is a favorite way to stay hydrated, and Kafe Leopold or Blue Duck Tavern are the perfect outdoor lunch spots.  Two of our SCOUT girls, Caroline and Megan, are seen enjoying some of their favorite summer spots!

Winter in Chicago may be long and cold, but summers in the Windy City are wonderful! Stop by Millennium Park or spend the day at the beach. Escape the heat at the Radisson Blu Hotel pool and quench your thirst with lemonade from Birchwood Kitchen. As for the food, have dinner outside at Red Door or Bridge House Tavern. When it comes to style, stay chic in neutrals inspired by the stone and cement found in the Chicago skyline, but don’t forget a bright accent piece to make your outfit stand out!

San Francisco

“The coldest winter I ever saw, was the summer I spent in San Francisco.”

Even with the arrival of summer, San Francisco is notorious for their cooler temperatures. Why not dress in head to toe black to coordinate with the weather? We suggest spending the breezy San Fran days eating outside at the Market Bar or Eastside West. Sip on ginger lemonade from Universal Cafe and sit poolside at the Phoenix Hotel.

New York City

This week we are spotlighting some of our favorite cites in the summer. We will be featuring the best outdoor dining experiences, the coolest pools and the best lemonade from each city. Of course the best fashion and style tips for dressing in the cities will be included as well!

The fabulous New York City is up first. When it comes to fashion, think outside of the trademark black attire and beat the heat in breezy whites! Take a dip in the rooftop pool at Hotel Gansevoort, sip on the blood orange lemonade from Nam Pung and eat alfresco at The Standard Grill or The Park!

Audrey Inspired: Floral Fantasy

The floral-patterned dress designed for Hepburn by Hubert de Givenchy in Sabrina marked the beginning of their lifelong collaboration and is widely considered one of the most iconic dresses in cinema. We love how modern the black-and-white appliqué still looks today. Floral imagery, from earrings to bags to shoes, is a great way to channel the romantic side of Audrey’s style.
