Wednesday Obsessions: We’re Mad for Collabs & Home Items

-There is a ton of buzz surrounding the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection, and we found coverage of it for those of you hoping to plan an efficient shopping trip for the day it (gasp) finally launches. NYMag’s The Cut did a write-up with some preview photos here!

-We can’t get enough of the new Zara Home collection. We’ve picked out a couple useful pieces we love here, including the printed silk hanger set (more patterns available) and the clear wet bar/tray table, but click into the Zara Home site for more of the amazing selection! As Zara clothes go, the home collection is well-made and well-priced, and therefore a must-see for any fashionista who might still be living in a studio apartment with four walls and no furniture…

-The Nate Berkus x Target collection launched just this week on 10/21, but we caught an early preview of the pieces on Refinery 29. We love the mixture of moods in these two pillows, the Gold Broken Stripe Pillow and the Indigo Star Ikat Pillow – perfect next to some SCOUT storage!

We thought it would be helpful to direct you to some of our favorite home stores/boutiques!

On the Pacific Coast:

Indigo Seas same owner as the Ivy in LA – island life mixed with French and Asian interiors.

Pom Pom Interiors– also in LA but the exact opposite of Indigo Seas – shades of neutral throughout the store.

Bountiful– also in LA and features now & then romantic pieces.

On the Atlantic Coast:

ABC Carpet & Home– for a great shopping & looking experience – they have shop-in-shops which makes for a dynamic mix of moods and styles.

Fishs Eddy– for retro-cool at its finest, restaurant supply with a spin.

Barneys’ Home Division, Chelsea Passage- available online, but a must-see in store – look for Yo Deb-featured brands like Fornasetti, Jonathan Adler, Smythson notebooks and passport cases.

An Upcoming Collaboration with Neiman Marcus-featured Designers

(via WWD and NYMag):

Save your holiday shopping for December, when this collection will debut… Look for pieces from talents like Alice + Olivia, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Tory Burch and Tracy Reese (to name just a few of the 24 CFDA members that Target and Neimans have announced).  In our ‘crystal ball’ of fashion we see full-skirted party dresses from Alice + Olivia and Tracy Reese, sophisticated sheaths from DVF and Rag & Bone as well as decorative blouses from Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch… who knows what we’ll end up seeing and scooping up, either way we can’t wait!

-The Princess Vera Wang Collection is now available at Kohl’s! Browse for romantic separates that work from day into night for the back to school set.

-Color design house Manoush has teamed up with longtime carryall brand Lesportsac – look for it online soon! and learn more about each company’s designs and influences by clicking onto their names at left.

-There will also be an Anna Sui for Coach bag collection, which InStyle announced after Sui’s totes debuted at NY Fashion Week. In Coach stores this fall, the totes are solid accessory investments for all you bohemian and shoulder-toting chicks. We love seeing Sui’s unique touch on classic Americana – in this case she re-works the Coach leather to include embellished outside pockets and fringed handles.

-As most of our readers know, we’re suckers for all things Liberty of London… now we get a collaboration that no combat boot-stomping British Punk group could’ve anticipated… flowers on Doc Martens?! We think the Doc Martens x Liberty collaboration featuring Liberty florals printed onto the leather house’s boots and bags is a new classic!

-Opening Ceremony is proud to announce its new collection with Adidas, Adidas x Opening Ceremony. Think downtown bodycon pieces showcasing that iconic paisley motif in bold and some softer fall hues.

-Buzzed about retailer and fashion company Joe Fresh will have a fab collection of fall boots that we’ve seen in recent print ads.

-Boot company Hunter has a chic new style for fall that we just spotted in Teen Vogue.

Acne, a Stockholm-based brand that has grown increasingly popular in the US for its sportswear and denim items, will be open a large SoHo store at 33 Greene Street this month. Fashion figure Martin Cooper, who helped re-launch Burberry as the leader for classic-meets-contemporary outerwear pieces back in the 90s to 2000, was tapped last year to design high-performance outwear company Belstaff’s autumn 2012 collection; the Belstaff name first became famous for motorcycle and military jackets, and under Cooper’s latest collection the womens pieces feature interesting new fabric combinations that maintain the perfect amount of luxe-legacy connected to the Belstaff name.

PHILLY FASHION & EATS: Inspired by the falafel crawl once seen on Bethenny Frankel’s Bravo show, we find ourselves eager for a grub crawl, and where better to do this than Philadelphia… Thanks to chefs Jose Garces and Stephen Starr, the city has become an amazing new hub for restaurants, and we’re bringing you an ‘appetizer portion’ of some favorites – Alla SpinaRoute 6JamoneraLoco Pez. In fashion news, whimsical clothing brand Free People has a flagship store in Philadelphia on Walnut Street. Check out a Philly food shout out on Yo Deb here.

FASHION FLASH, GLOBAL: the East-meets-West mash-up heating up fashion: designers include Phillip Lim, Peter Som, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Joseph Altuzzarra, Derek Lam, Prabal Gurung. Other notables include Zang Toi, who made a cameo on the RHNY when Jill Zarin hosted a show at his atelier; Doo Ri’s purple jersey gown FLOTUS (Michelle Obama) wore back in 2011 to a State dinner at the White House; lastly, though technically first in the lineup of influential East-meets-West  designers, Anna Sui, who has a new book for the young aspiring fashion designer called Fashion Idea.  Visit past Yo Deb posts where we featured some of these designer’s pieces here, here, and here.

FOR THE ‘INDOOR’ CREW: If you’re trying to stay out of the pollen, consider going indoors to see some of the latest movies to hit theatres… our staff has loved 21 Jump Street and American Reunion.
