Moonrise Kingdom Inspires Retro Fashion: Suzy’s Style

Filmmaker Wes Anderson is back this summer after a successful debut at Cannes of his new film Moonrise Kingdom. Get a sneak peak at the style of several characters in this film as we lead you ‘from the set to the street’ with unique suggestions for your wardrobe, inspired by Scout Master Ward (Ed Norton), the mother and wife Laura Bishop (Frances McDormand), the husband and father Walt Bishop (Bill Murray), and the daughter/star-crossed lover Suzy (Kara Heyward).

Window-Shopping in Europe: Plaid & Preppy

“Plaid takes on a new direction for fall in significant scale, traditionally colored to re-colored in autumnal to ‘preppy’ combinations. Plaid is best for coatings, jackets, skirts, or accessories, and is often twinned with solid suitings or novelty furs. Diamond-quilting is popular on jackets to handbags and adds a ‘classic’ twist to avant-garde or collectible silhouettes. Pink and green combinations add a ‘preppy’ tone to sweater knits, plaids, and accessories. Don’t forget the rugby in bold color combinations to twin with the classic blue blazer, jodphurs, and riding boots.”
