SCOUT’s Birthday Recap July 28, 2015

Last Thursday was SCOUT’s 11th Birthday; almost a teenager! For those of you who don’t know the SCOUT story, we will give you a short summary. In the early 2000s, co-founder and creative director, Deb Johns was traveling in Milan when a plaid carryall bag caught her eye. It didn’t take long for Deb to formulate the idea for SCOUT, which was to create fun, functional, and affordable tote bags for women and families. The brand is named after Ben and Deb’s beloved dachshund who lives up to his now iconic name. SCOUT has since grown to include an array of bags, accessories, and even rugs.

The iconic man himself.

We couldn’t resist. Isn’t he the cutest?

Such a great motto to live by in our opinion.
We couldn’t celebrate without cake and wine.

This cake was to die for; we had to go in for a second slice. If you want to try out our recipe see below. We highly suggest it!

Not a baker? That’s okay! This cake requires minimal baking skills and ingredients so it’s great for cooks of all stages.
We had so much fun celebrating SCOUT! But we like to think of everyday as a party here at the SCOUT HQ in Georgetown so we would like to believe this soirée was nothing out of the ordinary. Have some party tips? We would love to here from you!

When taking trips to the lake we like to keep it casual and comfy. Boyfriend jeans are our staple wardrobe piece when trying to be casually in-style. Pair with blouses, tanks, or tees and you’re ready for the day or night ahead!

As we wind down, realize August is near (really??), and start to get back into our “normal” routines, we want to make sure not to overlook these last few weeks of summer. Yes, organization is key to having a successful upcoming school year, but we don’t want to think about summer coming to an end just yet.

This laundry basket can double as a storage bin for all those orange life jackets that always seem to pile up on boats._DSC0676
Spend a day on the lake, relaxing on the boat.

Wind down your day with an amazing view and friends + family.
Lake house inspired vacations are a great way to have a mini escape for the weekend. We know the days are going by quickly and soon everyone will be heading back to school…but we want to have just a few more tastes of summer.
