Deb's Desk: Spring Gifting

blog_DebsDesk-Mar-GiftGuide-header

We’ve got April showers, Easter, Mother’s Day, teacher appreciations, weddings, graduations, and countless other spring celebrations heading our way, so this month, our Chief Creative Director, Deb Waterman Johns, has planted all the seeds for your spring gifting success in a beautiful gift guide garden. She’s curated a list of gifting options for your easiest and thorniest gifting personas, and our crew at HQ can attest that you won’t want to miss the Goddess of Gifting’s tricks and picks.

Fashion Forward

This take on colorizing and pattern has Deb Waterman Johns written all over it. For the more-fashionable-and-funky friend, consider mixing colors and categories—books with jewelry, or clothing with cosmetics. You can create a whole persona with boho necklaces or bracelets, a style guide, printed pashminas or tunics, and a Kelly Wristlet (here, in our two-tone Warm Combo). Work it, girl!

Active Attitude

Everyone has that “fab, fit, fun” friend. The awesome thing about these friends is that they absolutely love workout swag of any kind. Deb has laid out a primo example of what she refers to as “high-low” items. Depending on the recipient, you may want to pick one standout, higher-ticket gift, then sprinkle in some smaller, less expensive items according to theme. Splurge on some Nike Cross Trainers or HOKAs by Outdoor Voices (they’ve collaborated to release some very cute colors). Round the spread out by grabbing a tried-and-true sports bra or tank from Target, exercise or inspirational lit, and a few of our more active accessories (our Tourista and IDKase, for example).

Serene Scenario

This is a funky and creative take on a fun theme and vibrant colors. We often forget how fun and easy it can be to buy for someone’s alter ego or a different side of their personality. Consider this a little spa, or even, travel gifting theme. You’ve got a headband to keep the wispies at bay, an eye mask, worry doll, Kate Wristlet for keeping cash and cards on hand, travel mug for sipping herbal tea on the go, and some literature on cures for chaos and stress. These essentials are moderately priced and great for anyone who needs some relaxation treats or for someone harboring an acute fear of flying. You also can’t go wrong with a Millennial Pink color scheme.

SHOP THE STYLES: SCOUT Large Package | SCOUT Kate WristletBliss Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter | H&M Sleep Mask | The CHAOS Cure: Clean Your House and Calm Your Soul in 15 Minutes by Marla Cilley | Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily Nagoski PhD, Amelia Nagoski, DMA | Katie Time Otomi Yoga Leggings | J. Also, be sure to take a peek at our newly-launched Spring Gift Shop for more light and bright gifting inspo for everyone on your list this season. Who knows?
